Abstract

The Rare Books and Manuscripts Section’s Exhibition Catalogue Awards Committee was created as a much needed recognition of the supreme effort and creativity which goes into the exhibiting of rare books and the concurrent production of catalogues for such programs. Regarding exhibitions as one of the most important public and intellectual tasks of the rare book librarian—certainly one demanding of skills and talents which many times the curator is not aware he or she possesses until called upon to use them for the first time—the Awards Committee helps to define in its choices the most excellent work in . . .
