A Request From the New Editor

ALICE D. SCHREYER

Abstract

With this issue, I begin a three-year term as editor of Rare Books and Manuscripts Librarianship. At the 1988 Annual Conference in New Orleans, the Executive Committee of the Rare Books and Manuscripts Section (ACRL/ALA) adopted a resolution of gratitude to Ann Gwyn, who resigned as RBML editor in July. The RBMS Executive Committee resolution expressed “warm thanks and appreciation to Ann Gwyn, the founding editor of RBML, for the contributions she has made to the profession of rare book and special collections librarianship by placing the journal on a firm foundation” All RBML readers are similarly indebted to Ann.
