Abstract

The Philadelphia Area Consortium of Special Collections Libraries (PACSCL) sponsored its first national symposium, “Descriptive Cataloging of 19th-Century Imprints for Special Collections,” from August 6–8, 1992. The three-day conference attracted 70 participants from all over the United States and was considered a huge success by attendees. With publication in this special issue of Rare Books & Manuscripts Librarianship, the symposium papers will reach a substantially wider audience. PACSCL is pleased to announce that the 1993 national symposium (August 5–7) will address Images in Libraries, Museums, and Archives: Description and Intellectual Access.
