In the previous issue of RBML, Elaine B. Smyth and Robert S. Martin showed how working with the library’s friends group could be quite lucrative in a fundraising effort. The project they outlined worked well for their institution, given its history, geographical location, and configuration with respect to its donors, community, and personnel. The present issue opens with a wider view on fundraising for special collections, written by Victoria Steele, co-author of a recent book on the subject of fundraising for libraries in general.
